Come to the Main Stage sponsored by the Slocan Lake Arts Council for excellent musical entertainment. Combining regional and international talent, two or three groups alternate sets from 10:00 am through 5:00 pm. Picnic tables and benches provide ample space to sit and enjoy the music, and there is room for dancing.
At 4:00, the raffle ticket draw takes place and contest winners are announced.
This year on the Main Stage we will delight to the energizing music of The Latin Lovers and Snakes and Horses.
The Latin Lovers are a fiery, wildly entertaining, Latin Band from the West Kootenays. Their music is Latin Fusion; inspired by a variety of traditional rhythms, like Cumbia, Flamenco, Tango and more. With a mix of original songs and well-known Spanish covers, these beats make you dance. They play an outstanding array of instruments: didgeridoo, pan flute, harmonica, accordion, brass, congas, bongos, alternative percussion, and so much more. Seven extremely dynamic musicians make up THE LATIN LOVERS band, and they promise to light the stage on fire!
The Latin Lovers delivers a unique performance that celebrates the vibrant Latin culture. What sets them apart is their interactive approach, inviting the audience to participate by adding harmonies to songs and providing shakers for everyone to join in the musical experience. Inviting everyone to join in playing erases the line between the musician and the audience, uniting us all as one.
More information about The Latin Lovers, and samples of their music, are available on their website.
Snakes and Horses are a middle-age mom band originating from the Slocan Valley. Once a week for many years they would escape their families to sing and play together. During that time they developed a large repertoire of favourite songs that includes cover songs from the sixties through the decades, giving these songs a unique twist with intricate harmonies and complimentary vocals, creating a musical experience that captivates and enchants.
Flydini the Magician delights the young and the young at heart, performing 2 shows during the Festival day.
Look for the entertainment schedule posted inside each of the entry gates, at the Hills Recreation Society booth next to the Main Stage, and at the Family Tent for performance times.
